SOCS President Dr. Andrew Alexis and SOCS leader Dr. Eva Kerby expertly hosted a dynamic SOCS Networking and Educational event in Harlem on August 23, 2023. Against the backdrop of the city that never sleeps, this event served as a platform for a diverse gathering of attendees – from rising medical stars and dedicated dermatology residents to accomplished scholars and revered private practitioners. This event seamlessly blended education and connection, all while treating participants to the exquisite culinary offerings of the Red Rooster Harlem.

With an air of camaraderie, Dr. Alexis and Dr. Kerby extended a warm welcome, sharing their profound insights into the impactful initiatives they have spearheaded. They spurred conversations that encouraged attendees to not only participate actively in the dermatology community but also to explore avenues for collaboration and meaningful involvement through the Skin of Color Society. The event's energy extended into the networking sessions, solidifying professional relationships and igniting a palpable enthusiasm among those considering a deeper commitment.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Dr. Alexis and Dr. Kerby for their exceptional leadership and their tireless dedication to pushing the boundaries of dermatology. We would also like to thank Pfizer for their generous support, which played a pivotal role in transforming this gathering into a resounding success. As the echoes of discussions and connections reverberate, this networking event undoubtedly contributes to the dermatological advancement.
