Theo Alkousakis, MD, FAAD is a board certified dermatologist with a special interest in pigmented lesions, skin cancer and clinical research in psoriasis, alopecia areata, and atopic dermatitis. Before joining Johnson & Jonhson as a medical director in US Medical Affairs, he was in private practice at the Colorado Center for Dermatology and had worked previously at the University of Colorado as Medical Director of the Adult Dermatology Clinic and was the Director of Clinical Research.
Dr. Alkousakis was born in California and raised in Greece. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University. He was an ARCS Foundation Scholar and graduated from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine with Highest Distinction (Summa cum laude) and received the Order of Areté for scholarship and contribution to leadership. He was trained in dermatology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Colorado Dermatologic Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Alkousakis served as President of the Colorado Dermatologic Society and remains community associated faculty at the University of Colorado with a monthly resident clinic. He received a Presidential Citation from the American Academy of Dermatology in 2017 and has served as the Colorado state representative to the AAD Advisory Board. Dr. Alkousakis has published numerous articles and participated in multiple clinical trials as Principal Investigator.
