Tarannum Jaleel, MD, MHSc, FAAD

Dr. Jaleel, a dermatologist and researcher, earned her BS in Biophysics from UAB in 2007, followed by her MD and dermatology residency. After joining Duke University in 2016, she completed a master's in health sciences through the Duke Clinical Research Training Program. Her clinical and translational research focuses on sex hormones in skin inflammation, particularly hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). She's received funding from various organizations, including the Dermatology Foundation, Skin of Color Society, and NIH. Dr. Jaleel has been a principal investigator in multiple phase 1-3 dermatology clinical trials. She co-chairs the SOCS-NMA Diversity in Clinical Trials Task Force, directs the Duke Skin of Color Fellowship, and leads the IDEOM HS telehealth workgroup. These roles demonstrate her commitment to advancing diversity, accessibility, and innovation in dermatological research and practice. Her work aims to reduce health disparities and promote diversity in clinical trials, contributing significantly to the field of dermatology.
