Dr. Karolyn (Kari) Wanat is the Thomas J. Russel Family/Milwaukee Community Dermatologist Chair and Professor of Dermatology and Dermatopathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She completed medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, followed by dermatology and dermatopathology training at University of Pennsylvania. She also completed a complex medical dermatology fellowship at University of Pennsylvania, and the Gorgas Course in Tropical Medicine in Peru. She has a love of complex medical dermatology and granulomatous diseases and is a lead for a multicenter project evaluating the association of rubella virus with granulomatous skin diseases. She serves as the Director of Inpatient Consults for dermatology at Medical College of Wisconsin and enjoys taking care of patients with autoimmune diseases such as blistering disorders, rheumatologic disorders, and anything complex and providing multidisciplinary care. She loves teaching and served previously as the Residency Program Director.
