Jean Philippe (JP) York, Ph.D. serves as the Medical Director for Dermatological Skincare and Rx Inline at Galderma. With over a decade of leadership experience in Medical Affairs, Dr. York has played a pivotal role in advancing the Acne and Rosacea portfolio, recently expanding into Dermatological Skincare, including key brands such as Cetaphil, Alastin, and Differin.

He earned his doctorate in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Baylor College of Medicine, where his research focused on cell cycle gene regulation in organ development and the role of nuclear receptors (RXR/LXR) in cholangiocarcinoma. Dr. York began his career at Galderma as a medical writer, bringing scientific training to the development of medical strategy.

Throughout his tenure, he has led strategic initiatives across multiple drug launches, clinical study design, and medical communications. His work has been instrumental in shaping evidence generation and medical narratives that support both commercial and scientific objectives.

In alignment with the goals of the Skin of Color Society’s Meeting the Challenge Summit, Dr. York has directed Medical Affairs strategy for initiatives targeting melasma, acne, and acne-induced hyperpigmentation. Notably, he led Medical Strategy for one of the largest contemporary Phase 4 clinical trials focused on acne-induced hyperpigmentation, underscoring Galderma’s commitment to inclusive dermatologic research and innovation.
