The Mentorship Program is now open to medical students. Residents can serve as both a mentor (to medical students) AND as a mentee (matched with a practicing dermatologist).

Applications Available: August 1
Application Deadline:
 November 1
Recipients Notified: Q1 2024
Applications will open Monday, August 1, 2023.

SOCS Fellow and Resident members may serve as a SOCS mentor through the Mentorship Program.

SOCS Observership Grant Award

Up to $2,000 grants to be awarded to dermatology residents, medical students (2nd-4th year), or junior faculty to enable study with a SOCS mentor. It is required that both the mentor and the applicant must be members of SOCS. The SOCS Observership Grant is intended for travel, room and board as needed to establish and facilitate the mentoring relationship. In light of COVID-19-related concerns, if an in-person mentorship is not possible during this period, funds will be held until in-person engagement will be feasible or an updated detailed budget and justification for the revised expenses can be submitted.
