
Dr. Rebecca Vasquez
Rebecca Vasquez, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in pigmentary disorders. She currently serves as Interim Chief of Service of Dermatology at Parkland Health.
She is the President-Elect of the Skin of Color Society (SOCS) and has served in various leadership roles for SOCS. She holds leadership roles for the American Academy of Dermatology and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Her clinical and scholarly interests focus on medical education, pigmentary conditions, and advancing health equity for underserved populations. She has spoken nationally on topics related to health equity, inclusivity, and dermatologic care for patients with skin of color.
Dr. Vasquez has received numerous honors, including the Department of Dermatology’s Outstanding Teacher Award (2016, 2017, 2020), Parkland’s Physician of the Year (2024), and the American Academy of Dermatology’s Presidential Citation (2021, 2025). She is also the recipient of the 2025 International League of Dermatological Societies Humanitarian Award.
